Some of my thoughts on drawing and creativity.
A state of flow
When you are working on a drawing and it’s going well, you lose track of time and can actually slow down. You feel calm and have no worries at all. There is an inner clarity — you intuitively know how to make the drawing better, and you are confident that you have the skills to do it.
Access your intuition
Drawing integrates the emotional and logical sides of our brain, which leads to inventiveness, improvisation, and out-of-the-box thinking.
A unique way of seeing
Drawing lets you develop a unique way of seeing that relies on somatic knowledge and involves recognition of relations and proportions.
Getting over your fear of drawing
So many of us regularly feel an impulse to create, to make something with our hands, but never act on it. What’s stopping us?
Why I teach drawing differently
Three things about me as a teacher, and why I teach drawing differently.
From doing to teaching
